Rain, Rain, Go Away

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY...PLEASE COME BACK SOME OTHER DAY!

I can't believe that it's been 1 1/2 months since my last blog entry...WOW!! I guess I have been quite the blog slacker.

Today couldn't be a better day to create an entry. Let's see, the kiddos are on summer break and the weather has been the pits. If you live in the NorthEast or Massachusetts, you definitely know what I'm talking about, right? In the last 27 days the score is 24-3, the cloudy rainy days are winning over the sunny beautiful ones. And to boot the temp has been in the 60's almost this whole time. On a positive note, my electric bill is quite a bit less than this time last year, i.e. no need for ac or lots of fans.

But, ENOUGH already!!! My kids would like to enjoy their summer: go swimming, go to a park, just BE outside! They are tired of playing in the basement while I fiddle around on the computer. *sigh*

So, as a tribute to this dreadful weather, I decided to find some fun whimsical things on my favorite site ETSY to share with you today. ENJOY!! And for those of you in Massachusetts stay dry!

Another Blustery Day

It is these days when I'm tired of the wind and cold AND snow, that I start dreaming about summer and the beach.

We don't live super close to the beach anymore, but the town I grew up in is right on the Atlantic Ocean. When we go to visit my Mother, she and I and the kiddos often take little walks on a rocky beach to collect sea glass. It is a very relaxing activity and lots of fun to find treasures. You usually hear: "found one", "come look at this", "isn't this pretty".

We started to make little pendants with our finds. These, of course, can be purchased on my ETSY site Katie's Kreations. See pictures below:

Just Beautiful Cuffs

Kiddos are on school break and I'm sitting on the couch while they watch "Little House on the Prairie". Remember that show??

Anyway, just came across the most beautiful cuffs with such detailed embroidery work. Probably like they would have done back in the prairie days. I had to share some of my favs from this site. Check it out at Waterrose on ETSY.

Wonderful Gifts - elmstudiosonline

One of my most cherished handmade items are the "Hands and Feet" of my kiddos imprinted in pottery from Salt Marsh Pottery. They do such a wonderful job and I love having these. Such a special gift from my Mom to Me as each of my little angels was born. You have to bring them to their studio and they actually make imprints of the kids hands and feet. I have their work all over my home; light switch covers, clocks, decorative bowls hanging in my kitchen. Here are some pictures of the finished product.

Much to my excitement, I found an Etsyier that makes a similar type product, for a much more reasonable price. I absolutely LOVE this shop, elmstudiosonline, and have bought many cool items for my home and "thinking of you" gifts for friends, relatives and the kiddos' teachers.

I bought this one to display in my house and Erin used it as her listing picture. So fun to see my family in her listing! :)

New Artist - Love Belt Buckles

So, I have been working on many new projects (seems like I always have a million going at once). The new project is Embellished Belt Buckles.

I came upon this new ETSY shop....loving the belt buckles she has...also a fellow Massachusetts Etsyier. Check out their (husband and wife team) shop for some really hip necklaces as well. The shop is adornnaturals....come check it out! :)

Welcome to My Blog World

I have given in...I wasn't going to start a blog....but have changed my mind and here I am. LOL

I thought I could make a Facebook Business Page and that would suffice, but it just was falling short in many ways for me. So, I reassessed and decided that I would start a blog!

I will use this blog to promote my shop(s) and I will also feature all of my favorite artists here as well. In addition, secret giveaways and promotions will be posted, so become a follower so you will be sure to know of all these events.
